Villa dei Misteri
Ewa Kuryluk
Polish born artist Ewa Kuryluk makes haunting drawings on cloth that resemble human figures. Using a red felt-tipped pen and acrylic paint, Kuryluk draws on unbleached cotton creating a skin-like affect. The painted cloths are then draped over chairs, hung on the walls or, in two cases, crumpled on the floor; the folds inherent in the cotton impart a feeling of movement to the figures.
