In a Perfect World

Created by Ed Tomney, In a Perfect World is an audio work installed in the staircase at Art in General. As visitors pass through the stairwell, they encounter various sounds and visuals created by pedestrians in New York that Tomney has layered, edited, and compiled into one composition. Tomney has noted, “By displacing collected pedestrian sounds and inserting them into another site of passage, the space becomes a mirror of the sonic elements.”
