Intersections
Intersections is an audio collage of field recordings collected on Canal Street in lower Manhattan. It focuses on the vocal register of the counterfeit economy of luxury goods; a surreptitious sector that announces itself in the musicality of hushed interpellation. While the footage was gathered on the streets of New York, it refers to a vibrant subsection of the contemporary cosmopolitan cities in which debates rage over intellectual property, informal labor, immigration, and participation in the public sphere.
