Objects and Forces

Objects and Forces is Art in General’s first three-person exhibition. For the exhibition, Joshua Simmon’s has created a wall installation that consists of 108-framed drawings, each measuring 9×”. The works utilize acrylic on scratchboard in a technique similar to woodcut and each features an imaginary industrial form. Carol Sun has contributed three large-scale acrylic works on paper that incorporate imagery such as snakes, trees, houses, tools and machine parts. Steven Wright’s abstract paintings are symbolic and suggest a personal vocabulary. Three essays about the artists written by David Hornung accompany the exhibition.
