The human form is explored in various media in the exhibition Embodiment/ Personification. Zigi Ben-Haim’s sculpture fuses the silhouettes of abstracted body parts with architectural forms; Sid Carpenter uses clay to depict abstracted female forms; carved form styrene foam, the sculptures of Joel Carreiro are derived from the poses of classical Greek sculpture and incorporate laser-prints form everyday life; Sarah Haviland’s sculptures feature goddess-like figures that are carved form plywood, but painted to resemble stone; Ewa Kuryluk draws figures on cotton, which are then draped over chars or suspended from the wall.
