Rosalind Hodgkins, Richard Peck, Peter Rappoli, Fontaine Dunn, Darra Keeton

015exg687_4_lg_144_144This group show features paintings that depict abstracted versions of reality. Through an exploration into color, light and perception, the works in this show present essential experiences of everyday life rather than straightforward realistic imagery. The atmospheric paintings of Darra Keeton and Peter Rappoli project a heightened sense of light and space; Rosalind Hodgkins creates illusionistic paintings of unfamiliar objects that are composed of miniature images and pictograms; Richard Peck has constructed minimal wooden objects, which playfully reveals a mocking image on their reverse; Fontaine Dunn aligns separate horizontal panels on the wall, which contain images of pure color, patterns and diagrams.
