The Other Side

For his residency, Steven Brower investigates the intersecting relationships between his creative work and his various sites of “employment.” His research focused on General Tools Manufacturing Company, the original owner of Art in General’s space, and Brooklyn Model Works, Brower’s employer. For this project, he researched the history of General Tools, developing a new tool and re-issuing a tool that is no longer manufactured.
