DEVELOPMENT ASSOCIATE

The Development Associate position plays an integral role in all fundraising efforts that support Art in General’s exhibitions, programs and general operations. This position will work with and report directly to the Deputy/Development Director. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in grant writing with excellent written, communication and editing skills and strong interpersonal skills. The candidate should have a passion for contemporary art, and enjoy bringing new ideas to the table while working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
The Development Associate’s responsibilities will include managing the organization’s annual grants
calendar; writing government, foundation, and corporate proposals and final reports while ensuring that all related materials are prepared in an exemplary manner and submitted according to deadlines; strategizing, researching and approaching new funding sources; tracking and acknowledging grants and gifts; assisting in the planning and implementation of the organization’s special events; helping manage daily operations within the development office; and assisting with other revenue generating activities as required. The Development Associate will also manage the organization’s membership program.

Requirements:
· A BA or MA in an arts related field preferred
· At least 2-3 years of development and grant writing experience
· Experience with developing budgets
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· The ability to multi-task and manage time efficiently within a fast-paced working environment
· Strong interest in contemporary art preferred
· Proficiency in DonorPerfect preferred.
