Night Waters

Lynne Yamamoto

A site-specific installation, Night Waters is part of Lynne Yamamoto’s continuing series of works based on oral histories of women in her family who lived and worked on a sugar plantation in Hawaii during the early part of this century. Through the use of sculptural objects, photographs, and audio/video components, this installation explores biography, historical memory, loss, and recuperation. An essay by Kerri Sakamoto was published on occasion of the exhibition.
