Continuing with Art in General’s mission to provide an alternative space for emerging artists, Six Spring General presents new photographs, paintings, drawings, wall and floor sculptures by six contemporary artists. Susan Strauss’ mysterious paintings depict veiled figures and half-opened doors; the painted wall structures of Debra Weisberg feature tropical plant-like forms; Randy Hardy’s cast bronze pieces present abstracted anatomical figures; fragments of landscape are illuminated by layers of colored glass in Steven Donegan’s glazed clay work; Barbara Andrus has created large-scale constructions from wire, lead and other materials that derive from self-portraits.
