POTLUCK

POTLUCK is a collective formed around ideas of convergent creation, consumption, and discussion. These initiatives are harnessed to explore various artistic, theoretical, and sociological issues that are raised within the forum of the potluck – in all its different instantiations and manipulations. POTLUCK was created to actively provide art students an opportunity to show their art in a professional gallery space and to act as a liaison between the academic setting and the professional setting in order to make the transition as fluid as possible. Aesthetically, the trope of the potluck was selected because of both its historical legacy as a form of community engagement and promotion, and its plethora of thematic art historical and theoretical issues.

Funding is made possible through a generous gift The Gatsby Charitable Foundation.
