Danteum is a tribute to The Divine Comedy written by Dante. Rather than depicting actual scenes from the poem, the installation seeks to evoke a similar feeling through the use of architectural and archaic forms. To achieve this, artist Peter Levinson has employed a visual vocabulary of black and white cutout shapes, reduced to their most essential, minimal forms.
