Abstract Places

Sigrid McCabe, Rande Barke, Michi Itami, Jesse Murry, Betty Wilde, Andrea Callard, Darra Keeton

Bordering between abstraction and figuration, the works included in Abstract Places derive from landscapes. Rande Barke creates vertical paintings on wood that suggest images of water, pools, and tides; Andrea Callard’s watercolors present imagery from San Diego; small works by Sigrid McCabe focus on the twelve basic habitats of North America; John Moore and Darra Keeton’s collages combine geometric forms with organic shapes; Jesse Murry’s works on paper and paintings focus on the horizon and impart an atmospheric mood.
