Inspired by the concept of the family photo album, Alicia Henry has created an installation, which features figures made of paper, felt, thread, paint, and found objects. The figures represent the various stages of life, ranging from childhood to adulthood, and include multiple images of individual subjects. According to Henry, “I like the idea of a family photo album because it creates a visual history. In albums, individuals are separated, but connected, by the past, present, and future.”
