American Dream is a reflection of the origins of New York’s cultural heritage, focusing on the overlooked, sometimes banal details of daily life. The installation consists of installations, photographs, drawings, and multiples that are constructed out of everyday objects such as maps, candy, and drinking glasses. In regards to his drawings, Rullier has noted, “In these drawings of my walks the important thing is to give an idea of the quantity of information people receive during the length of the day, to which they pay no attention.” For this project, Rullier has also provided a blank book in which he invites viewers to record their dreams, which he then illustrates.
