6:00 PM to 8:00 PM

POTLUCK II: RITUAL is a communal food event, a site-specific installation and an exhibition of student video work organized and supported by POTLUCK collective, Art in General, and the Arts Initiative at Colombia University.

It is a time when we redirect our creative impulses into making food, intermingling, eating and drinking, and discussing issues that the format of the potluck raises, as well as everything beyond. The concurrent video exhibition of student works pertaining to and exploring the theme of “ritual” gives breadth to the experience, the dialogue, and the definition. Ritual is an observable factor of the potluck, not an imposed interpretation, making it a readily available subject to explore.

All attendees are expected to bring food as their own contribution to the “communal creation, consumption, and discussion” tenets around which POTLUCK revolves.
