Something/Nothing – Passport to the State of Flux

Organized by Luiza Interlenghi
No cost, no waste, and lots of surprise constitute the general principles of the Fluxus community, according to Alison Knowles, a former member of the group.
The screening will juxtapose the original spirit of Fluxus (as represented in her works, and in many other artists such as Nam June Paik, Ay-O or Dick Higgins) with contemporary artists videos. Excerpts from Larry Miller’s 1978 interview with George Maciunas will provide some clues for Fluxus lineage. The selection of videos will track the disguised dissemination of flux-attitudes throughout contemporary artists works. The slight shift that turns nothing into something called art, and the ability to be serious about not being serious will be explored both in the current works and the original Fluxus performances.
