Art in General provides emerging artists with two very scarce resources, funding and exhibition space to create thought-provoking, challenging work for over 35 years. With your support, Art in General will continue to assist artists at critical junctures in their careers through funding, curatorial guidance, and exhibition space to present, thought-provoking new work.

Your support is greatly appreciated. We look forward to your company on July 20th!

Art in General’s 2016 Summer Benefit Reception is made possible with the generous support of Elaine Goldman, and Hans-Kristian Hoejsgaard, cocktails provided by Bombay Sapphire Gin.

Art in General was founded in 1981 and supports the production of new work by local and international artists primarily through its New Commissions program and its International Collaborations program. Art in General also produces an annual symposium What Now? on critical and timely issues in artistic and curatorial practice.

There are many different ways to contribute to Art in General:

You can always support Art in General through direct donations here , your gift of any amount has impact.

Commissioners’ Circle membership is a high level contemporary form of patronage that directly supports our New Commissions while offering members the opportunity for in-depth engagement with artists ($2,500 member, $5,000 supporter, $10,000 leader). More information/join here. Art in General’s New Commissions program has supported over 60 individual artists and collectives to produce ambitious new works through substantial curatorial, logistical and financial support since 2005.

Insider Membership is a way to gain access and be part of the art community, while fundamentally supporting Art in General ($500 individual, $850 dual). Commissioner Circle and Insider members take advantage of members-only events, including private artist talks, private dinners with artists, studio visits, private collection tours, VIP previews, and private curator led tours of other major institutions.
