New Commissions artist Kambui Olujimi discusses his recent body of work, Wayward North, with artist and author Christopher Myers.
Olujimi works in a variety of media, including film, installation and photography. Using large-scale tapestries as a platform for the dissemination of narrative, Olujimi’s latest project questions the function, transmission, and disposability of mythology in an increasingly mediated culture.
Christopher Myers is an artist and writer from Brooklyn. His work has been exhibited at many places, including Greater New York at PS1, Contrasts Gallery in Shanghai, and the Goethe Institute in Accra. He has lectured at MoMA, the Whitney, and Reyum Arts Center in Phnom Penh. Currently you can see his collaboration with artist Chitra Ganesh at Friedman-Benda gallery in Chelsea, and any place that sells his books.
