Artist Residency
Apr 17 - May 29 2010

Božena Končić Badurina (b. Zagreb, 1967) is a performance artist whose participatory work explores the power structures of human relationships. Using pedestrian-like performers who interact with actual visitors to the space, her artworks question the role of the audience: what are the politics of viewing? Where does authority lie in complex viewer/viewed subject situations? What psychologies are implied by the roles of viewer and viewed subject and how do they translate into everyday interactions on the street? Badurina has performed and exhibited at such venues as The Museum of Contemporary Art, Zagreb; Max Art Fest; Art Pavilion; Ceremony Performance Festival; Moria Gallery; Exposure Gallery; and The Istrian Council Chamber, Poreč. This will be Badurina’s first exhibition in the United States.
