Artist Antal Lakner was born in Budapest, Hungary (1966) where he also earned his degree in Fine Arts from the Hungarian Academy of Fine Arts (1995). He is the recipient of both the Derkovits prize (1999-2002) and the Eötvös prize (2004) and represented Hungry at 2001 Venice Biennale. He has participated in artist’s residencies at In and Out of Touch in London (1996), the D.C.A. Gammel Dok, Copenhagen (2000), Cité Internatinale des Arts, Paris (2000), and the International Studio Program at the Künstlerhaus Bethanien, Berlin (2000). His work has been exhibited in Japan and extensively throughout Europe. Antal lives and works in Budapest, Hungary and Paris, France.
